Abstract: THE ROLE OF THIRD-PARTY LOGISTICS PROVIDERS IN SUPPLY CHAIN OPERATIONS
This study aims to explore the role of third-party logistics (3PL) providers in supply chain operations, focusing on their impact on cost savings, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. A survey design is selected for its ability to gather data from a diverse population. Using Taro Yamane's formula, a sample size of 300 respondents is determined to ensure statistical significance. The case study is conducted in Lagos, focusing on a manufacturing company utilizing 3PL services. The reliability coefficient score of 0.85 indicates high reliability. Findings suggest that 3PL providers significantly enhance supply chain operations by reducing costs, increasing efficiency, and improving customer satisfaction. Recommendations include strategically partnering with reliable 3PL providers and continuously evaluating their performance.
